NYC RISES TO #2 ON THE WORLD'S BEST CITIES LIST FOR 2025: A TRIUMPH OF CULTURE AND RESILIENCE

Elena Ash

New York City has climbed to second place on the list of the best cities in the world for 2025, according to the consulting firm Resonance. After two years in third place, NYC has overtaken Paris, though London still holds the top spot.

Cities are ranked based on data from 400 locations, focusing on three key areas: livability (including rent and bike-friendliness), lovability (such as nightlife and dining), and prosperity (encompassing education and job opportunities).

NYC earned the #2 ranking for Business Ecosystem and Culture, reflecting its impressive post-pandemic recovery. The city welcomed approximately 65 million visitors in 2024 and anticipates even more in 2025.

While London has remained in the top spot for the past decade, Paris has fallen to third, with Tokyo in fourth and Singapore in fifth. NYC remains the highest-ranking U.S. city on the list!
